PROF. MUHONGO, THROWS SUPPORT BEHIND AFRICA ENERGY FORUM IN ISTANBUL

Posted on 08:32 by Anthony Carold
Prof. Sospeter Muhongo, Tanzania's Minister for Energy and Minerals
The 16th Africa Energy Forum (AEF) will be held in Istanbul on the 18th to 20th of June 2014 and will welcome investors from across the world to focus on investment opportunities in Tanzania.  Prof. Sospeter Muhongo, Minister for Energy and Minerals strong support on the forum.
“The Africa Energy Forum is a meeting which unites investors, and having the Minister’s support and his foresight to send representatives on his behalf to explore the opportunities [whilst personally being unable to attend] clearly demonstrates a man committed to turning over every stone in order to drive forward investment and increase access to energy for all Tanzanians,” Simon Gosling, AEF organizer Energy Net’s MD said.
“Leaders attending from Tanzania include Tanesco’s Managing Director Felschesmi Mramba and senior representatives from the Ministry who have a clear strategy for engaging investors at the forum have been working with our team for weeks so that every moment is spent meeting investors and exploring all opportunities to increase the efficiency within Tanzania’s electricity market,” he said.
Africa Energy Forum is a platform to promote new projects, generate capital and to maintaining the momentum behind established power sector projects.
“For Mr. Mramba to attend and directly address this, the world’s largest gathering of power developers and investors focused specifically on Africa, he will be stating clearly that Tanesco is open for business.  It’s a hugely exciting time for those in Tanzania’s energy space and we’re thrilled to play a small role supporting those aspirations,” Mr. Gosling said.
AEF brings organizations together to look at tried and tested ways of delivering projects, but also exploring new opportunities to be more efficient, make better use of local skills and forge public private partnerships in Africa.
